As our Media and Communications Officer, you will play a key role in highlighting the council's work, connecting with residents, and crafting high-quality campaigns. This role offers a diverse range of responsibilities and the chance to expand your expertise.

About the Role

This is a wide-ranging role with opportunities to build on your existing experience. You will work with teams across the council, advising on communications, managing our social channels, dealing with the news media and devising marketing campaigns.

Creativity is key to this role. You will be given room to develop your own ideas and turn them into compelling content that delivers against our strategic objectives. You will also be someone who is familiar with the news media and have the skills and confidence to deal with journalists. Excellent verbal and written communication skills are essential.

What We offer:

• Salary: £13,400 - £18,061 (FTE £22,536 - £30,375)

We offer a highly varied role in which no two days are the same. The role offers a high degree of flexibility in terms of your work location being remote or office based, collaborating on a daily basis with a great team of supportive colleagues online or at regular in-person meetings at our offices.
